FGLL Junior Umpire Training
Become an Umpire!
If you did not know, most youth sports are lacking officials. This puts additional stress on the leagues and programs to limit the # of teams playing, the times that games are scheduled, etc. Becoming a junior official takes a lot of the pressure out of the system since these junior officials can be assigned to all 1/2 and 3/4 games.
WGL encourages our players (8th grade and older) to train and become a junior official.
Each winter, the Founders Girls Lacrosse League offers "Modified Jr. Officials Training" to train junior officials to manage 1/2 & 3/4 grade games.
This is a great way to learn more about the game, develop leadership skills and earn money! Most WGL junior officials are assigned games in Wellesley! The pay range is $40 - $50 per game.
Requirements:
-
~ $50 fee
-
Online training
-
On the field training - usually 3rd weekend in March
Stay tuned for more information for this upcoming season's training. We'll post information here.
For additional official training, for grades 5/6 and 7/8, see details for EMWLUA training is at EMWLUA.org.
The pay range for these officials (which requires more training) ranges from $50 - $75 per game.
